Delaney Bonifacio returns to NAHA where she began her women’s hockey career. Delaney grew up playing boys travel hockey in Traverse City, Michigan until joining NAHA in 2015 as an 8th grader. Her first season she earned the most improved player award and went on to captain the U16 NAHA Red Team, leading them to a JWHL championship in 2016-2017. Her final year in the program she was again awarded most improved player honors before committing to Long Island University. The defenseman competed for the Sharks for 2 years while serving as a peer mentor, helping new students transition into college and volunteering with The Hidden Opponent, a non-profit organization for mental health awareness, education and support. Both seasons she was named to the NEWHA Conference All-Academic team. In 2022 Delaney transferred to Franklin Pierce University to complete her collegiate career earning a degree in Sports and Recreation management in 2024. While playing for the Ravens she also earned All-Academic NEWHA Honors and was inducted in the National Student-Athlete Honor Society. In her final year on the ice, the trust and respect of her teammates and coaches awarded her a place on the NEWHA All Sportsmanship Team as well as the Coaches Award.
